How to write a CV in 2026
A short, practical guide: structure, length and what recruiters actually read.
Serg · September 28, 2026
A good CV answers one question fast: can this person do the job? Everything else is detail.
Keep it to one or two pages
Recruiters skim. Put your strongest, most recent experience first and cut anything older than ten years unless it is directly relevant.
Structure that works
- Name, headline and contacts
- A three-line summary
- Experience with measurable results
- Education and skills
Tip
Write results, not duties: "cut API latency by 40%" beats "responsible for the API".
Check what ATS systems see
Most applicant tracking systems extract plain text from your PDF. Use real text, not images, and standard section titles such as Experience and Education.
